Found! Virus Detection Of Cervical Cancer

There is a virus detection of cervical cancer. The Virus in question is the HPV or Human Papillomavirus Human. This family of viruses from human papillomavirus is usually infected through the skin or mucous membranes. Recent research done the NHS Cancer Screening Programmes said that HPV is present in more than 99% of cases of cervical cancer.

Chief Researcher NHS Cancer Screening Programmes Julietta Patnick,, said the discovery as a wonderful thing. "The relationship between cervical cancer and HPV fact already long existed due to HPV found in over 99% of cervical cancer cases," he writes in the medical journal The Lancet, as reported by the Mirror.

Further, Patnick said that studies he did use HPV early in the examination could reduce the risk of cervical cancer by up to 70%. The study lasted for 6.5 years were committed against 175 thousand women between the ages of 20-64 years old, who are domiciled in the United Kingdom, Italy, the Netherlands and Sweden.

"With the HPV test, we can protect the 60-70% of women from the dangers of cervical cancer as compared to conventional tests that exist right now," he said.

Patnick recommends that women aged over 30 years to try the HPV test at least once every five years. If HPV was detected, then the patient will be recommended for further examinations that could prevent the occurrence of cervical cancer.

Dr Guglielmo Ronco from the Centre for Cancer Epidemiology and Prevention, in Turin, Italy, said until now there hasn't been a clear estimate of the effectiveness of the HPV test as compared to conventional tests in preventing cancer for women who regularly checked himself. However, Ronco agrees that the presence of HPV could be an early warning for the women of the dangers of cervical cancer.
