Angelina Jolie's aunt died of breast cancer

Angelina Jolie's aunt died of breast cancer less than two weeks after Jolie underwent a double mastectomy to avoid the cancer.

Jolie's aunt, Debbie Martin died at the age of 61 years in a San Diego hospital.

Debbie Martin is the younger brother of mother Marcheline Jolie, Bertrand. Bertrand's death due to cancer in 2007 became the inspiration for the operation carried Jolie on 14 May.

According to the husband of Debbie Martin, Ron Martin, Debbie had the BRCA1 gene that increases the risk of cancer is the same as belonging to Jolie. However, his wife does not know it until being diagnosed with cancer in 2004.
