In the UK , every year there are approximately 2,300 new cases of testicular cancer . Unlike other cancers , the disease attacks at a young age and generally attacking British men aged 15 to 49 years .
Increased life expectancy of people with testicular cancer in the UK is largely due to the use of the drug Cisplatin , which is a chemotherapy drug that is also used to treat bladder cancer , lung and ovary .
Chief Executive of Cancer Research UK Centres Harpal Kumar said this drug is a success story developed by British scientists .
" This drug helps almost all men with testicular cancer to beat the disease and is an example of what can be achieved through dedicated research , " he said as quoted by telegraph.co.uk .
Kumar said that 96 percent of men with testicular cancer are now cured telahg . However , the need to be aware of further study is four percent of men who could not survive the disease .
" Only with further research we can bring progress and was able to defeat all types of cancer , " he said .
The most common early symptom of testicular cancer is a lump or swelling in one testicle .
