Prostate Cancer Gleason 6 - Means Gleason

 

Prostate cancer is often diagnosed using a tissue biopsy of the prostate. The most common way is the use of an ultrasound scanner to study the prostate, allowing the doctor to send a needle to take a small sample of cells from the prostate you. This is known to be uncomfortable, and because of this sometimes a local anesthetic used. Like all tests, biopsies are not always 100% accurate. If symptoms continue after a test then patients should always go back to your doctor or GP.Once prostate samples were examined if cancer cells a degree known as the Gleason score are detected is given . These rates for the possibility of prostate cancer spread, with the lowest score the score better.A prostate cancer Gleason 6 or lower means that the cancer has a good chance it does not spread further. If this result occurs, the doctor will be able to advise you on the best course of action, but the final decision is always to treat the patient. A Gleason score of 7 means that the cancer has a chance to broadcast medium, while a score of 8 indicates a high probability of spreading. With high Gleason scores especially if the doctor believes that the likelihood that the cancer has spread then other tests may be needed to see if this is the case. Once the patient always be able to make the decision if they want more evidence
