Drinking Coffee Can Prevent Liver Cancer
According to a recent study , coffee drinkers have less possibility to develop a type of liver cancer is the most common , namely hepatocellular carcinoma , as reported by the huffingtonpost.com .
Researchers from the Università degli Studi in Milan , Italy , saw the 16 studies that were published between 1996 and 2012 , which included data from 3,153 cases of hepatocellular carcinoma .
Coffee consumption was associated with a 40 percent reduced risk of hepatocellular carcinoma , and some studies even showed more than 50 percent reduction in risk due to drinking three cups of coffee a day . " Coffee has been shown to influence the development of cirrhosis and liver enzymes , and because it can protect the liver carcinogenesis , " wrote the researchers . The findings are published in the journal Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology
Coffee consumption has also been associated in previous studies to decrease the risk of many other cancers , such as prostate cancer , oral cancer , basal cell carcinoma (a type of skin cancer ) and endometrial cancer . However , a recent study has also linked that excessive coffee consumption vulnerable higher risk of death for people under the age of 55 .
