Movie: life and love with prostate cancer

As part of the HAROW study the Foundation Men's Health has a film released under the general title "perspective by observing." He points to other still little known ways to deal with this cancer.
The HAROW study is the largest study on the treatment of patients with localized prostate cancer in Germany. It was initiated by the Foundation Men's Health and is still ongoing. Your request: Figuring out whether an intervening treatment in favor of quality of life may be postponed (more on the study here in the magazine in the article prostate cancer patients give their doctors high marks ).
In this study, the Foundation Men's Health has had to create a film that informed patients, relatives and other interested people about the different ways to deal with prostate cancer: The engaging treatments radical prostatectomy , radiotherapy and hormone therapy and watchful waiting strategies active surveillance (engl. active surveillance , AS) and expectant monitoring(English watchful waiting, WW).
In the film, describe three patients and the wife of one of them from their own personal point of view, as they felt the diagnosis for which treatment they chose and what consequences ensue. The medical facts provides the urologist and scientific board of the Foundation Men's Health, Professor Dr. Weissbach, the psychological background psychotherapist Dr. Anne Breuer.
One of the persons concerned, the Swiss physician Walter Raaflaub had opted for the surgery and reports on their side effects incontinence and impotence ( erectile dysfunction , see also under "Further Information" in the "books" the meeting of his diary Summer Sucks ) . The other two are under active surveillance. In this method, a treatment takes place only at tumor progression, and Professor Weissbach explains the conditions under which they can be considered.
The film is done professionally and with 20 minutes of not too long. It provides information on the main methods for dealing with prostate cancer, not so much from the perspective of the physician, but rather from the perspective of those affected. This rarely used approach is to provide the food for thought returns, opened up new perspectives and gives courage to contemplate the disease. Thus, the participants agree: With the exception of a very aggressive tumor you have enough time to learn in peace and then to decide on the best treatment for you.
