This fluid is released through the penis during ejaculation.Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in American men. It is estimated that by age 50, 1 in 4 men have some cancer cells in the prostate gland. At 80 years, the proportion increases to 1 to 2. Therefore, the risk of prostate cancer increases with age. The average age of diagnosis is 72 years. Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in American men. However, unlike other cancers, is more likely to die of prostate cancer that is to die from it. On average, an American on the risk of prostate cancer in their lifetime 30 percent, but only about 3 percent risk of dying from the disease. The risk of prostate cancer is much higher among blacks, intermediate among whites and lowest among native Japanese.

However, this increased risk may be due to factors other than those related to race. Studies have shown a relationship between testosterone levels and the risk of prostate cancer, black men who have the highest levels. Symptoms of prostate cancer include frequent urination, difficulty urinating, blood in the urine or semen and painful ejaculation. Frequent lower back pain, burning during urination or weak urine flow are also very common. There is another prostate condition known as benign prostatic hyperplasia or BPH. This is basically an enlarged prostate without cancerous lesions. The symptoms of this condition are similar in many respects to prostate cancer. For example, levels of prostate specific antigen or PSA can become elevated in both BPH and prostate cancer.Chemotherapy, radiation and surgery are the three most common approaches for the treatment of prostate cancer.

The selection of which method is used depends largely on the extent of disease. With surgical removal of the prostate, there is a greater risk similar to the menopause in women osteoporosis. This problem is usually accomplished by use of hormone replacement therapy after surgery. Calcium and vitamin D have also been shown to be useful in reducing this type of bone loss.Natural measures for the prevention of prostate cancer chemoprevention include changes in diet and lifestyle, and hormonal prevention. Chemoprevention is the use of specific natural or man-made medicines, vitamins, or other agents to reverse, suppress or prevent cancer growth. Several agents, including difluoromethylornithine (DFMO), isoflavonoids, selenium, vitamins D and E, lycopene and have shown a potential benefit, according to studies. More tests are needed to confirm this. The herb saw palmetto, which was once considered the best natural supplement for the prevention of prostate cancer. Recent studies lead researchers to believe that saw palmetto to be much less potent in its preventive effect.A diet high in fat, especially animal fat, may be associated with an increased risk of prostate cancer. Thus, reducing red meat, cheese and other dairy products, salad dressings, sauces and is a good step.

Increased intake of fruits and vegetables has been associated with a reduced risk of prostate cancer in some studies. Adding soy products like tofu and soy milk can be useful to regulate the hormonal balance. The exercise, even just walking to dry, it has been shown to reduce the incidence of prostate cancer and virtually all other types of prostate cancer cancers.Since has a link to testosterone, it is trying to discover the function of certain medications, such as finasteride studies to reduce the amount of male hormone as preventive agents for prostate cancer. If you believe you have experienced any of the symptoms listed in this article, consult your health care provider. Early detection of prostate cancer is very important in the management of its detrimental effects
