Symptoms of colon cancer

The clinical presentation and symptoms of colon cancer vary depending on the location of the tumor.

In tumors of the left colon  symptoms generally manifest as blood in stool, change in bowel habits ( constipation or diarrhea ), and feeling of incomplete evacuation after deposition, among other symptoms.
In the transverse colon tumors  usually manifest symptoms causing pain and obstructive symptoms. Although more common in this location, tumor growth may occlude the lumen and cause an acute intestinal obstruction causing cramping, bloating and vomiting.
The right colon tumors often cause occult bleeding (can not see with the naked eye), causing anemia due to chronic blood loss, which is resulting in symptoms (fatigue, pallor, etc.).
A rare colon cancer but very serious complication is intestinal perforation. If it occurs can lead to peritonitis to be addressed urgently.

In addition to these local symptoms, colon cancer can also lead to symptoms such as fatigue, loss of appetite and weight, tumor fever, etc..
