Boyd pointed to one study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition that looked at soy intake in 9,500 women in the U.S. and China after breast cancer diagnosis . It turns out that frequent consumption of isoflavones found in soybeans are proven to reduce the risk of recurrence of breast cancer significantly , especially in invasive breast cancer survivor .
A study released this year by the Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention also showed similar findings , but with more participants is 11,000 breast cancer patients . The result , the researchers concluded eating soy after diagnosis is related to a reduced risk of death and recurrence of disease .
But the American Cancer Society recommends that women cancer patients only eat soy in moderation , and not taking pills , powders or supplements containing soy , especially that containing high doses of isoflavones
