Minimal clinical trials in breast cancer patients younger cause problems of their survival in the long term

Research funded by cancer research institute in the UK and the Wessex Cancer Trust found found that certain types of cancer in young patients can relapse quickly after five years . This is in contrast to what usually happens in breast cancer in old age .

Lack of clinical trials in breast cancer patients younger claimed to be the cause of their problems of survival in the long term , a British study says .

This research analyzes that nearly 3,000 women under the age of 40 years in this country are diagnosed with breast cancer .

Data published by the Journal of the National Cancer Institute showed that the number of patients survived 5 years after diagnosis was 85 % . But within eight years , this figure becomes 68 % .

This disease is generally found in women who have entered menopause . This cancer can usually be treated with chemotherapy followed by administration of the drug is tamoxifen for five years to block the receptor ekstrogen .

Researchers say that taking tamoxifen in the long run can help . But they still believe that cancer testing is necessary to involve more young women .

Clinical research director of the institute of Cancer Research UK , Kate Law said , " in general the possibility of life of women diagnosed with cancer are now two times greater than those diagnosed in the 1970s . However , not the case with the patients of the age group the younger " , he said .
