Classification of uterine neck cancer
Prior to initiation of cancer treatment must know the stage is located. The higher the stage, the worse the prognosis and should be more aggressive combat mode.
0: carcinoma in situ. The malignant cells are confined to the uterine epithelium.
I: limited to cervical carcinoma. At this stage the patient is still asymptomatic and can only diagnose the disease by biopsy or cytology
II: the tumor invades the top of the vagina and ligaments holding the uterus, but without the pelvic wall.
III is affected entire vagina and the pelvic wall. Due to the size of the tumor may have kidney and hydronephrosis (distention of a ureter obstruction) failure.
IV: extension to bladder and / or rectum.
Prognosis of uterine cervical cancer
It depends on several factors:
The stage at which the cancer is being diagnosed.
Patient characteristics: poorer prognosis in obese and older patients.
The treatment is put in place and when it starts. The sooner you start trying, more likely to survive.
