Study : One-third IVF Allegedly Got Cancer While Vulnerable Children

IVF procedure can be said to be one of remarkable breakthroughs in the medical world . However, because it is not a natural , of course, the baby is generated from this procedure is also prone to health problems . This revealed a new study from Denmark .

After reviewing 25 studies from 12 developed countries , including the U.S. , UK , Denmark , France and Israel which took place between the years 1990 to 2010 , researchers found a third , or 33 per cent of children born thanks to program in vitro fertilization ( IVF ) aka baby this tube at greater risk of childhood cancer than infants of normal birth .

65 percent of them are predisposed to develop leukemia or blood cancer and 88 percent of test-tube babies are susceptible to brain cancer and cancer of the central nervous system .

" The results of our meta - analysis did indicate a link between fertility treatment with the risk of cancer in children is the result of IVF , " said researcher Dr. Marie Hargreave from the Danish Cancer Society Research Center , Copenhagen as reported by the Daily Mail , Tuesday ( 8/10 / 2013) .

" We actually do not know the origin of cancer in these children , but we suspect fertility therapy plays an important role in it , " he added .

Researchers speculate that this risk is triggered by a number of aspects of fertility treatments , such as exposure to hormones , sperm preparation , frozen embryos , when the developing embryo condition until insemination ( fertilization ) are pending .

However, most researchers conjecture lies in the use of anti - estrogen drug that stimulates ovulation function and is often used in IVF procedures are almost similar to diethylstilbestrol , a drug given to pregnant women to stop complications because these drugs are known to be related to childhood cancer
